The Northeast Michigan Great Lakes Stewardship Initiative could not be as successful as it is without the dedicated support from all of our partners, including schools, government agencies, non profits, and businesses. They are the people that make these projects happen! Click the link below to see a list of all the partners involved in NEMI GLSI.

Wilson Elementary School- Expanding Environmental Awareness in Northeast Michigan

Sustainable Schools
dsc_0301.jpg

Building up from their existing native plants butterfly garden, Wilson Elementary is planning to construct an outdoor classroom pavillion where students will be able to learn all subjects outdoors. Students in the school will be involved in the planning and construction of the structure, making the project their own. Once this first structure is installed, the students will continue to expand with additional components, the first being a bird watching area.
