Students in Mr. Nate Dionne’s class got a chance to learn from 2013 Huron Pines AmeriCorps Member, Otsego Conservation District Education Coordinator, and hydroponics enthusiast, Justin Burchett, about the basics of hydroponic agriculture.  They also learned how hydroponic agriculture has several benefits over traditional agriculture, especially when it comes to decreases in soil erosion, water use, and nutrient application.  Armed with this knowledge students will go forth to produce great harvests from their school hydroponics systems.
