The First Federal of Northern Michigan Community Foundation present a $500 grant to Alcona Community Schools teacher Chuck Boyer to help buy equipment for his woodworking and computer aided design (CAD) classroom. First Federal Branch Manager Lee Ann Wooster and First Federal Assistant Vice President of Commercial Lending Tom Hendricks visited Boyer's classroom to present the grant. "We are so grateful for grants like these because they allow us to continue to buy equipment we need in the classroom and keep up with evolving technology," Boyer said. "It's amazing to see the projects the students in Mr. Boyer's classroom are working on. They are very talented and the technology available to them in the classroom is very impressive," Hendricks said. "It's obvious that Mr. Boyer is enthusiastic and truly engages his students and gets them excited about learning." Founded in Alpena in 1957 by 11 community leaders, First Federal of Northern Michigan has eight full-service offices located in Northern Michigan and offers a full range of personal and business-related financial services in all of the communities to which it serves.
