Alcona County Review, November 12, 2014
Alcona High School Industrial Technology WAMIT (Woodworkers Achieving More through Industrial Technology) spend time walking through Harrisville State Park to find information about possible builds they might do for the park. Park supervisor Eric Ostrander explained the need for better informational kiosks at the park. The club also looked at some of the park's cabins and are planning on building a bunk bed to hold a full mattress at the bottom bunk and a single bunk bed on the top. WAMIT's main focus is to build partnerships within the community while completing various building and service projects. After visiting the park the students went to the Alcona Sign Shop to learn more about using a CNC router and how to build a custom sign and to Alpena Community College to focus on team building.
