From Industrial Arts Students Support Lake Huron Coastal Habitat by Preserving Hibernacula in Alpena
ROCKPORT - An Eastern Michigan University biology professor and his assistant checked hibernating bats for white nose syndrome in two former conveyor tunnels at Rockport State Recreation Area. Allen Kurta and Robin Slider went into the tunnels Saturday to count the bats and check for signs of the devastating fungal disease. It's the latest in a series of visits he's made to check the bats for it.
