Educators -- are you looking to develop your skills and toolbox for engaging with youth in an outdoor setting? Join the Teaching in the Outdoors Workshop, hosted by the Northeast Michigan Great Lakes Stewardship Initiative. This workshop will be anchored in methods and lesson modelling from the BEETLES Project. The BEETLES (Better Environmental Education, Teaching, Learning & Expertise Sharing) Project is a student and nature centered collection of passionate science and environmental educators devoted to improving the quality of outdoor science education.
 
 
The workshop agenda will include the following:
1. Pedagogical Foundations of Outdoor Teaching
2. Engaging and Managing Students in Outdoor Science
3. Making Observations 
4. Engaging Students in Outdoor Inquiry - Questioning Strategies
5. Promoting Discussion Among Students
6. Addressing Challenges in Outdoor Teaching
