The Northeast Michigan Great Lakes Stewardship Initiative could not be as successful as it is without the dedicated support from all of our partners, including schools, government agencies, non profits, and businesses. They are the people that make these projects happen! Click the link below to see a list of all the partners involved in NEMI GLSI.

Cedar Lake Elementary - Compost Kids

Sustainable Schools

In this project, elementary students will learn about composting and organic gardening during their enrichment class. They will then be involved in numerous chores related to the composting program, such as measuring compostable waste during lunches and taking it to the compost tumblers. When the compost is ready, they will be using it in the planting of a school garden.
