Alpena River Center

Building a healthier Thunder Bay River habitat and promote stewardship through environmental education and research.
Mission

To build a healthier Thunder Bay River habitat and promote stewardship through environmental education and research.

Description

In a world that seems to be wobbling on its axis, community spaces that ground and sustain us deserve our support. Situated near the confluence of the Thunder Bay River and Lake Huron's Thunder Bay, the City of Alpena's River Center is just such a place. Residents and visitors to Alpena, Michigan will soon have a state-of-the-art interpretive center to compliment Alpena's 500-acre Wildlife Sanctuary which includes both the Duck Park and Island Park. The facility will be located next to Duck Park on Long Rapids Road. Despite already conducting programming this project is still in the planning stage, as funds are secured. If you believe in the River Center, place visit the website to see what you can do to help make it a reality.
