Developing Leaders in Conservation
![]() |
Designed to activate the spirit of volunteerism and stir the passion to make a difference in the community and the environment, Huron Pines Americorps gives individuals the opportunity not only to develop real-world skills, increase experience, and network with other resource professionals, but to have a real impact on the area by completing conservation projects that otherwise would not be done.
With a living stipend and other benefits, this program provides an opportunity to develop as a professional in the conservation community during a one-year or six-month term of service. AmeriCorps members have been placed in nothern Michigan and Lansing with a variety of non-profit organizations to assist with volunteer engagement, habitat restoration, environmental stewardship, and developing conservation services.
Huron Pines AmeriCorps members both serve with the Northeast Michigan Great Lakes Stewardship Initiative and act as partners to GLSI projects.
